both leaving the UTEP men's basketball program, panic quickly ensued. Although close to 800 players are expected to transfer from Division 1 college basketball teams this year, we had not seen a mass exodus like this from the Miners program over the six years that Tim Floyd had been back in El Paso as head coach.
John Bohannon, a former UTEP center who played four years for Tim Floyd, joined Sportstalk yesterday to discuss what it was like playing for Floyd, being a Miner, and why so many players Division 1 college basketball players are transferring.

Bohannon, who spoke to 600 ESPN El Paso from Hong Kong, where he is currently playing professional basketball, was active on his Twitter account yesterday addressing the demands of playing for Coach Floyd. In 125 games from 2010-2014, he finished with 1,204 points and 825 rebounds as a Miner. Bohannon has also played for Orlando in the NBA Summer League and has enjoyed a successful professional career in the NBA D-League and now in Hong Kong. He still has ties to El Paso, and will be back in town during the summer. Bo has always been one of my favorite ex-Miners and I look forward to catching up with him again in July, when he visits our Lube n' Go studio.
