UTEP basketball signee Isaac Hamilton was one of 24 high school stars named to McDonald’s All-American Game rosters on Thursday.

Hamilton will play on the West team at the 36th annual edition of the event on April 3.  ESPN will carry the game live from the United Center in Chicago beginning at 7:30 p.m. MT.

The 6-5, 185-pound Hamilton signed with the Miners on Nov. 17.  He is in his senior year at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, Calif.

Hamilton would become the second McDonald’s All-American to suit up for the Miners.  Chris Sandle, a 1984 selection, played two seasons at UTEP (1986-88) after transferring from Arizona State.

Hamilton is averaging 20.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.9 steals this season, shooting 51 percent from the field, 28 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the line.  He has appeared in 23 games, scoring 20+ points 14 times with a high of 30 points versus Bishop Montgomery High School on Jan. 12.
