Is a Robotic Girlfriend a Fantastic or Frightening Idea? [VIDEO]

At first glance, the young lady in this video seems to be taking part in some sort of scientific study as she sits patiently next to a guy at a desk. Suddenly it becomes creepily apparent she isn’t a young lady at all — or even a human for that matter. She’s entirely robotic.

She blinks, smiles, moves her eyebrows up and down and even looks from side to side. Her realism is quite a technological achievement, even if the implications are enough to make you fear the impending robot apocalypse.

But hey, on the plus side, she’s a lot more human than the models in H&M catalogs. Plus she is probably much easier to get along with, doesn’t expect much and will let you do whatever the heck you want. She might be the perfect girlfriend.

There doesn’t really seem to be a downside. Oh, right, the sex thing. Well…
