Construction along I-10 west, between Mesa Street and Executive Center, was stalled by the sudden bailout of the projects construction company. Now the project has a new builder, a new name and a new website to ease our confusion.

They're calling it "Go-10" since the big shots at TxDot decided that "I-10 Collector-Distributor Road Project" was too wordy. I don't know if changing the name of the project is going to ease things any, but at least they're working again! According to an EP Times article, the project will:

  • Upgrade the connections at Paisano Drive and the Border West Expressway.
  • Add lanes to I-10 in both directions
  • Reconfigure ramps and overpasses at Sunland Park Drive, Resler Drive and N. Mesa.

A new website, go10elpaso.com, is up now to give drivers real-time construction and road closure updates as well as other info. An app for smart phones will soon follow.
