It never ceases to amaze me how some people just don't realize when they have a good thing going in life.  Take country music star Hank Williams Jr. as a prime example.  He had one of the greatest sthicks going performing the opening theme song for Monday Night Football over the past 20 years.  One ignorant comment cost him his job with ESPN in the blink of an eye.

Hank Williams Jr.  appeared on Fox News and compared President Obama and House Speaker John A. Boehner’s recent golf game to “Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu.”  This is a free country and everyone is entitled to their opinions, however if you are a celebrity and in the public eye; it is probably not a good idea to say such a ridiculous thing.  Thinking something and saying it on national television are 2 different things.

According to Hank Williams Jr.  he was the one who decided to call it quits due to numerous emails he received after the incident last Monday.  ESPN decided to pull the MNF theme that we have all become so familiar with this past week permanently.

There are times where our big mouths get us in trouble.  We are all guilty of not thinking before we say things.  Jimmy the Greek had an amazing television career going until he made one controversial comment about African American athletes that cost him his broadcasting career.  Hank Williams Jr. became a significant part of MNF over the past 2 decades.  We all became so used to seeing his opening act, it was so catchy.

I don't know about you, but I will miss his famous words "are you ready for some football!"  Ultimately, he has no one to blame but himself and this needs to be a lesson for other individuals in the public eye.  The moral of the story is watch what you say because people are listening to you and really care about what you have to say.
