El Paso outfielder Jake Goebbert went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs in the Chihuahuas 7-5 win over the Tacoma Rainiers Friday at Cheney Stadium. The Chihuahuas also benefited from a home run by Alex Castellanos, who went 3-for-4 with his third homer of the season.

Goebbert’s first inning longball gave El Paso a 2-0 lead. It was a short-lived advantage, as Tacoma scored four times in an eight-batter bottom of the first against Keyvius Sampson. Each side added a fifth inning run, making the score 5-3 Tacoma. The Chihuahuas took advantage of two seventh inning miscues by Tacoma and scored three runs on a throwing error by Leury Bonilla and a two-run single by Gobbert. Jorge Reyes, Dennis O’Grady and Branch Kloess held Tacoma scoreless in the final four innings to seal the win.

The Chihuahuas have now won three of their four games at Cheney Stadium this season. Reyes now has a streak of 13 straight shutout innings, while O’Grady hasn’t allowed an earned run in 10 Triple-A innings.

Jake Goebbert started off the scoring for EP in the first with this 2-Run home run.

In the ninth, Alex Castellanos sealed the win with this solo shot.
