God's Gift Achiuwa (yes, that's his real name) has chosen to play his college ball for Steve Lavin and the St. John's Red Storm.  Lavin and the Johnnie nation hope the 6' 8" power forward will live up to his name on the court. Achiuwa averaged 22.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks last season for Erie (N.Y.) Community College.  God's Gift is originally from Nigeria, and his father is a minister.

Coach Steve Lavin refers to him as 'Gift.'  I have a feeling some announcers will have fun saying 'God's Gift with the slam' while other more reverent announcers will call him 'G.G.'  Either way, God's Gift Achiuwa is likely to be the best player named after a deity since Providence's God Shammgod.  Jesus Shuttlesworth had some serious game, but Jesus was just Ray Allen in character so he doesn't qualify for the all deity team.
