Las Vegas leadoff hitter Matt den Dekker hit the second pitch of the game over the center field batter’s eye to give the 51s a 1-0 lead. El Paso came back with two runs in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Jeff Francoeur and a sacrifice fly by Adam Moore, who also had a hit in the game, extending his hitting streak to ten games, the longest for the Chihuahuas this season.

Las Vegas sent eight batters to the plate in a three-run third inning against Chihuahuas starter Matt Wisler. The 51s added a run in the fifth and two more in the seventh to go ahead 7-2. The final three tallies came on Andrew Brown’s home run off Francoeur, the first runs the outfielder allowed in five pitching appearances.

Despite back-to-back losses, the Chihuahuas have won nine of their last 14 games.

Jeff Fancoeur had and RBI single in the first inning.

The Chihuahuas defense turned two outstanding double plays tonight.
