Former Duke basketball player Nolan Smith shared an experience on Twitter Wednesday night that's become disturbingly commonplace. 

While visiting Durham to participate in Duke's K Academy, Smith said that police pulled guns on him during a traffic stop despite his full cooperation. Here's how he explained the incident.

As soon as police realized who they had stopped, the entire situation changed according to Smith.

Smith was one of Mike Krzyzewski's most decorated players during his time in Durham. He played all four years for the Blue Devils, finishing with a national championship in 2010 and earning consensus first-team All-American honors in 2011. and had one of the most decorated careers
