The Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday that William Paul Langrum II was convicted of capital murder in the stabbing death of 50-year-old Shearl Bennett. Police say Bennett was attacked and her purse was stolen as she walked through the parking lot of her apartment complex.

Langrum was a forward on the 2001-02 Lincoln High School team that went 40-0 and won the state 4A championship. His teammates included center Chris Bosh, who now plays for the NBA's Miami Heat.
