The weekend is here…and that means FOOTBALL! Here are the games that I think will be the ones to watch:

COLLEGE:

#14 STANFORD (8-2) AT #1 OREGON (10-0) 6 P.M. ABC

Oregon can clinch a spot in the Pac-12 title game with a win this weekend. Oregon’s high-powered offense leads the nation in scoring but they’ll be tested, hby a Stanford defense that leads the nation in rush defense and is giving up a conference-low 320.7 total yards per game.  As long as the ducks keep winning they should be a lock for the BCS title game

NFL:

Indianapolis Colts (6-3) at New England Patriots (6-3) 2:25 P.M CBS

Believe it or not but Indianapolis is in playoff contention thanks to Andrew Luck. The Colts need to pass the ball because the Pat’s defense is one of the worst in the league.  The Colts believe that with Luck they can win any game. The only problem is that he’s facing the “Hoodie” and Tom Brady. New England is still explosive on offense, averaging a league-high 33.2 points and 430.2 yards.

San Diego Chargers (4-5) at Denver Broncos (6-3) 2:25 P.M. CBS

What is going on with Philip Rivers? He has thrown 12 interceptions on the season. He’ll need to avoid a Denver pass rush that has registered a league-high 31 sacks. Payton Manning is looking like the Payton of old and has the Bronco Faithful thinking Super Bowl.  Expect Denver to pass frequently against a Chargers’ defense that allows an AFC-low 82.9 rushing yards per game.

Baltimore Ravens (7-2) at Pittsburgh Steelers  (6-3) 6:20 P.M.

Pittsburgh is starting Byron Leftwich in place of Ben Roethlisberger, who suffered a sprained right shoulder in Monday night’s win over the Chiefs. Thankfully the Steelers rank first in the NFL in total defense, giving up just 265.7 yards per game. The Ravens have a good offensive attack led by quarterback Joe Flacco. Baltimore is averaging 28.2 points per game, the fourth-highest average in the league.

Enjoy the games!
