As far as excitement goes week one of the high school season had plenty of it.  Franklin took San Angelo Central to five overtimes before falling 41-35.  The Horizon 'cardiac' Scorpions stung El Paso high 21-20 in overtime.  The Midland teams are up to their old tricks.  Lee rolled Coronado 42-3 in El Paso while the Midland Bulldogs drubbed Del Valle 44-14. Chuck Veliz found a quarterback as Montwood clipped Mayfield 49-48.  In our N3L Optics game of the week, Riverside outlasted Hanks 44-37.

Below are the offensive stat leaders for week one.  My apologies to any names I may leave out, as the El Paso Times and Maxpreps do not always provide box scores for every game.
