High School has now entered district play for the three major El Paso-area districts.  Four weeks have been played as we enter Week Four of the season-- first week is known as Zero Week.

In the N3L Optics Game of the Week pitted the Americas Trail Blazers against the hosting Coronado Thunderbirds.  In a shocking first half, Coronado jumped out to a big 38-14 halftime lead.  Americas put up a huge fight in the second half but fell short as Coronado survived 38-35.

In other games, El Dorado ran all over Eastwood, 49-17.  Chapin notched its first win of the season with a 26-14 win over Burges.  Horizon's offense has disappeared as Canutillo ran away 49-7.  Montwood trampled Bel Air 49-14.  Del Valle its dominance of district 2-4A with a 54-7 trouncing of Parkland.  Eastlake got the easy victory over San Elizario, 54-0.  Ysleta ended a 17-year losing streak against Riverside with the 10-0 shutout.

In games where we didn't have a reporter present, Alpine destroyed Anthony 60-0.  Centennial beat Fabens 63-21.  Tornillo shut out Van Horn 18-0.  Mountain View destroyed Mesilla Valley Christian 59-7.  Gadsden defeated Santa Teresa 30-10.  Clint survived against Cathedral, 21-15.  In six-man action, Immanuel Christian trounced Jesus Chapel 64-18.
