First Grid 2 Gameplay Trailer Looks Better Than Anything Ever

Codemasters is bringing its acclaimed racing series Grid back with a new sequel this May, and the first footage from Grid 2 will melt your eyes with awesome.

Racing games have evolved quite a bit during this most recent generation, and franchises like Forza and Gran Turismo continue pushing the envelope with realism. However, with the advances in technology, it's no longer a two-horse race when it comes to video game automobiles. Case in point, Codemasters' awaited sequel, Grid 2.

The first game was a racing fan's dream, and the long gap between titles looks like it will pay off in spades. The minute or so of footage on display showcases some amazingly detailed cars, gorgeous settings, and dazzling lighting effects. There are a more than a dozen cars being shown off, including the Ford Mustang Mach 1, Mercedes Benz SL 65 AMG, and Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 Nismo Z Tune, across tracks in Chicago, Paris, and Austria.

Take a look at the trailer below, but keep a napkin handy. You're likely to start salivating at the sights and sounds. Grid 2 will be out May 28th on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
