One of the most exciting matches to take place at Benito Juarez Olympic Stadium in a long time happened on Wednesday night between Bravos de FC Juarez and Santos Laguna.  The 3-3 tie took the sold out crowd at the stadium by the Rio Grande on a rollercoaster ride of emotions for the entire 90-minutes of play.

The ride got off to a quick start when the Bravos scored in the first 45 seconds of play.  3 minutes later Santos would answer with a goal of their own.  This would be the starting point for the visiting side to establish their dominance for the first half over FC Juarez.  Santos would score another 2 times, in the 18th and 32nd minutes, before the opening 45 minutes would come to a close.

In an attempt to get a reaction from his team, Bravos head coach Sergio Orduna made all 3 of the allowable substitutions to start the second half.  Just 10 minutes into the second half (the 55th minute) that decision paid off as one of subs, Leandro Carrijo scored off of a header, then 3 minutes later he did the exact same thing again to tie the match.

The last 30 minutes saw two teams create several opportunities to score, but failing to do so.

This result gave the Bravos a total of 8 points in the group stage of the Copa MX good enough for a 3-seed in the knockout stage of the competition which consists of 16-team bracket.  However, Puebla can knock the Bravos down to a 4-seed with a win next week in their final group stage match.

The higher seed in the knockout phase will received home field advantage in the single match elimination phase of the competition.
