ESPN El Paso’s Andy Lee Interviews Boxer Andy Lee

It was a bittersweet day for me today at the Sun Bowl.  I got to interview the boxer that shares my name, but shortly after I learned that the June 16th fight will not take place in El Paso.

An hour before the press conference, fight promoters learned that the University of Texas Officials deemed the Sun Bowl and the UTEP campus as 'not the appropriate venue for the event.'

The fight will now likely take place in San Antonio or Houston, with Houston a more likely destination.

As for Andy Lee, he was a pleasant, polite fellow who was a good sport.
