The University Interscholastic League, which governs all Texas high school competitions, met and released its realignment changes for the fall of 2014. As expected, a new 6-A conference was formed, featuring the largest schools from around the state. Seven El Paso high schools qualify for the new 1-6A District. The schools formerly in the 4-A District will now move up to 5-A. The only big change is Bel Air, who leaves the large school district and now will be moving to the "new" 5-A in the fall.
