It has been six months since El Paso boxer Jennifer Han made history and captured the IBF World Featherweight title. Now, she will put her belt on the line next month when she meets the IBF's #3 contender in the world, Liliana Martinez at Southwest University Park.

Han and promoter Lester Bedford will join El Paso Chihuahuas general manager Brad Taylor Thursday afternoon for an official announcement on the field at Southwest University Park. After a long and illustrious amateur career, the 32-year old Han is 13-3-1 as a professional. There is talk of a potential unification title fight with WBO champ Amanda Serrano. First, Han will have to take care of business against Martinez in the mandatory IBF title defense.

The fight will also be the first boxing event held at Southwest University Park. Bedford has promoted other local events at the Sun Bowl and Cohen Stadium, so El Paso's newest outdoor sports venue was a natural fit for him. Ticket prices will be available following Thursday's press conference.
