Dodgers Sold to Magic Johnson’s Group

2 billion dollars. That is the price tag for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Tonight, a group that includes former Los Angeles Laker star Magic Johnson and longtime baseball excutive  Stan Kasten agreed to purchase the Dodgers from owner Frank McCourt for $2 billion. That is the kind of dollar figure that Dr. Evil would be proud of. That would easily shatter the record for a North American sports franchise. McCourt paid $430 billion eight years ago to buy the team from Rupert Murdoch's News Corps.
