What a crazy night at the Daytona 500. If you are a fan or just a person who tunes into NASCAR for the crashes, than last night you were in luck because there were a lot of them.

Despite a few rain delays, and a number of crashes, Matt Kenseth ends up your 2012 Daytona 500 champion. His win will for sure be overshadowed by all the accidents that occurred during the race. The drivers were barely a lap in when the first crash happened, which took out Jimmie Johnson for the rest of the race.

After that, several more crashes took place including the most bizarre one, which was Juan Pablo Montoya crashing into one of the jet dryer trucks, which spilled fuel all over the track causing a massive fire. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the ‘Crash-tona’ 500 Monday night, but it sure made it interesting for the casual observer.

Now if only NASCAR would do this sort of thing more often, we might become big fans.
