Forget the trendy "honey badger" comments from Danica Patrick.

Today's announcement that Danica will skip the 2012 Indianapolis 500 and race in the Coca-Cola 600 shows just how dedicated she is to NASCAR.

This season will be her first full season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. She will race a limited Sprint Cup schedule for the first time and she is making the right decisions, decisions that NASCAR fans not only notice but truly appreciate.

Fans of NASCAR are some of the most fanatical and passionate fans in all of sports. Some fans only buy the products that sponsor their favorite driver. Hell, I had to pick a new driver to follow two years ago because the driver I was following went to a team that races Toyota's. (Thanks again for that Michael Waltrip Racing)

This move shows that her career in NASCAR is not going some sideshow or ratings stunt. Danica is now, just blending in and being accepted as just another driver in the garage. This will prove to be a true benefit to her. Instead of having to talk to the hoards of media that usually follow her around, she will be able to concentrate on team communication, car set up and the track at which she is racing. Just like everyone else.

NASCAR is a very demanding and physical, contrary to popular belief.  You have to commit and be all in if you want to succeed.

This move shows she is committed and succeed she will.
