The NBA champion Dallas Mavericks have won at least 50 games in every season since Mark Cuban bought a majority share in the team from Ross Perot Jr. in 2000.

Nevertheless, Perot, who still owns five percent of the Mavericks, is suing Cuban for “mismanagement” of the team.

Cuban and his lawyers decided the best time to respond to such an accusation was right after the Mavericks won the NBA title.

To take full advantage of this development, the legal brief Cuban’s team filed in response to Perot’s suit contained a steady stream of references to the “World Champion” Dallas Mavericks.

Then, for the coup de grace, the document featured a photo of the Maverick’s celebrating with their championship trophy during what was described as one of their “many victory celebrations.”
