Just one week into training camp in Oxnard, California, the Dallas Cowboys locked up one of their most important lineman for the next nine years. The team's starting left tackle agreed to an eight-year extension worth almost $110 million including $40 million guaranteed. Smith will also receive a $10 million signing bonus, sources told ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer.

Smith has started all but one game since he was picked 9th overall in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Now that Smith is locked up, the team will look to do the same thing with star receiver Dez Bryant, who is in the final year of his rookie contract and has a base salary of $1.78 million.
