This bad news for an already depleted Dallas Cowboys defense. Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick is getting a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters on Monday night that Scandrick tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and lost an appeal on the ban.

Scandrick will be eligible to return Oct. 5 against Houston. He will miss the opener against San Francisco, and his final game on the sidelines will be against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.
