The Sean Payton to (insert team here) rumors are really gaining traction.  The NFL has voided the long term extension Payton signed with the Saints in September of 2011.  This means Payton will be a 'free agent' coach if a new contract is not worked out by the end of the season.

Dallas is emerging as the leader in the clubhouse for Payton's services.  Payton was an assistant there under Bill Parcells from 2003-2005 before taking the head job in New Orleans.  Payton really fanned the flames when he purchased a house in the Dallas area in early 2012.

If the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs for a third straight season, it's hard to believe that Jason Garrett would be back for a third full season.  Payton, of course, is on the record saying that he has no plans to leave New Orleans, but we all know how that expression about the 'best laid plans of mice and men' goes.

Payton would be a great fit in Dallas, assuming he wants to deal with Jerry Jones.
