El Paso Chihuahuas Game Summary

Chihuahuas 8 Omaha 5 - Tuesday

WP: O’Grady (3-1)

LP: Patton (4-2)

S: Sullivan (1)

Time: 2:55

Attn: 4,911

The El Paso Chihuahuas trailed by two runs with one out and no baserunners in the ninth inning Tuesday afternoon but came back to beat the Omaha Storm Chasers 8-5. Cody Decker and Chris Nelson walked, pinch-hitter Jake Lemmerman was hit by a pitch and Tyler Greene laced a three-run double to put El Paso ahead in the ninth. Jeff Francoeur’s two-run home run gave the Chihuahuas two insurance runs. Jerry Sullivan retired the Storm Chasers in order in the ninth for his first Triple-A save.

Seven of the Chihuahuas ten hits went for extra bases. Jason Lane pitched seven innings and allowed four earned runs in a no-decision. It was the fourth time this season Lane lasted through the seventh inning.

The Chihuahuas won three of the four games in Omaha against the Storm Chasers, a first place team in the American Conference. Four different Chihuahuas (Brooks Conrad, Decker, Francoeur and Adam Moore) homered twice in the series at Werner Park. The Chihuahuas finished their eight-game road swing with a 4-4 record.

Like last night, Adam Moore got the Chihuahuas scoring started with another solo home run in the fifth.

The Chihuahuas took the lead in the ninth on this bases clearing double by Tyler Greene.

Jeff Francoeur put the game out of reach when he hit this 2-Run blast in the ninth.

The Chihuahuas do not play Wednesday.
