El Paso Chihuahuas Game Summary

Chihuahuas 4 Tacoma 3 - Friday

WP: Roach (1-1)

LP: Palmer (1-5)

S: Ambriz (7)

Time: 2:37

After two consecutive nights without a game, the El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Tacoma Rainiers 4-3 Friday night at Southwest University Park. The Chihuahuas continued their excellent results against Tacoma this year, beating the Rainiers for the 10th time in 13 meetings. Tyler Greene went 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run for the Chihuahuas in the win.

El Paso starter Donn Roach pitched five hitless innings before allowing two runs on two hits in the sixth. Roach picked up his first Triple-A win Friday, after a few strong starts early in his stint with the Chihuahuas that resulted in no-decisions. The Chihuahuas scored a second inning run on a bizarre play when Cody Decker hit a pop up to second base that was misplayed by Nick Franklin. Travis Buck raced home from third base and scored, even though the infield fly rule was called while the ball was in flight.

The Chihuahuas have now won four of their last five games. Former Major League All-Star Corey Hart went 1-for-3 with a double Friday on a Seattle Mariners injury rehab assignment. The Chihuahuas are now 34-0 when leading after the eighth inning.

Travis Buck scored on an infield fly in the second inning.

This was a surprising Tyler Greene home run in the fifth inning.

The game was put out of reach in the seventh when Adam Moore hit this RBI double.
