The Las Vegas 51s never trailed in their 4-3 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Thursday at Southwest University Park. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak the Chihuahuas carried into the series.

Cesar Puello broke a scoreless tie in the third inning by hitting a solo home run over the left field wall. The 51s took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third on an RBI single by pitcher Giancarlo Alvarado and an RBI double by Puello. When Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit an RBI double in the fifth, it gave Las Vegas its biggest lead of the night at 4-1.

The Chihuahuas rallied in the sixth, scoring twice on a solo home run by Jeff Francoeur and an RBI single by Rico Noel, but El Paso left the bases loaded in the inning, stranding three of their 10 runners left on base in the game. Jace Peterson reached via his fifth walk of the game to lead off the bottom of the ninth, but was erased one batter later on a double play.

Thursday’s sellout was the 11th in 13 games at Southwest University Park.

Adam Moore's RBI triple in the fourth. But was it a home run?

Jeff Francoeur hits a solo home run in the sixth.
