I consider myself to be very fortunate.  Every year I travel to Chicago to visit my family, friends, and indulge on some of the extraordinary food that the Windy City has to offer.  Chicago is without  question one of the most interesting cities in the world, and is renown for its delicious variety of food.  Here are some pictures that I took on my past visit over Christmas and New Years showing some of my favorite places that I highly recommend.

No trip to Chicago is complete with trying their famous deep dish pizza.  This pie is from one of my favorite places, Giordano's. (photos by Brandon Cohn)

Pizza goes great with a salad, and Giordano's antipasto salad is as good as it gets.

Chicago may be famous for their deep dish pizza, but their thin pizza is very tasty as well.  This thin pizza with Wisconsin aged cheddar and Italian beef is from a restaurant called La Villa in Portage Park, about 7 miles from downtown Chicago

My friend Nathaniel who I've known since 4th grade highly recommended this place.  It's called Franks 'N' Dawgs and is a Lincoln Park favorite that serves gourmet sausages with numerous toppings. This is the Pork Of July which is described as a pork loin and caramelized onions sausage with house smoked pulled pork, bourbon BBQ sauce and house slaw.

The Iceman is a huge fan of fried pickles.  These yummy delights are from the Old Town Pour House, an upscale pub featuring over 90 beers and some really good food.

Located in Old Town, Twin Anchors opened in 1932 and features some of the best ribs in Chicago. Frank Sinatra frequented Twin Anchors quite often and even had their ribs delivered to Navy Pier after a concert in 1982.  A scene from the movie 'The Dark Knight' was filmed at Twin Anchors.

Chicago features some incredible Greek food.  This is the spanakopita from Psistaria Greek Tavern in Skokie, a suburb 10 miles from Chicago.  It is a spinach pastry pie, that is simply heavenly.
