The Isaiah Thomas experiment in Cleveland is over. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs are shipping Thomas, Channing Frye, and a protected first round pick in 2018 to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

ESPN Ramona Shelburne reports that the Lakers plan to keep both Frye and Thomas and not move them before today's NBA trade Deadline. Thomas and Frye both have expiring contracts this summer, so the Lakers will have $46.9M in cap room to pursue a pair of max free agents. LeBron James, DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant, Paul George, and DeAndre Jordan are some of the big names that the Lakers would be willing to pursue during the offseason.

For Cleveland, they acquire Clarkson who is averaging 14.5 points per game. The 25-year old is under contract through 2020. Nance is also under contract through 2020 and he is averaging 8.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
