Yesterday afternoon, Tim Floyd and the UTEP basketball program landed one of their best recruits ever when Isaac Hamilton chose to play for UTEP.  Hamilton who is the 5th best Shooting Guard in the nation chose UTEP over UNLV, San Diego State and UCLA.

As a longtime fan and host of Sportstalk, I am baffled why UTEP never approached Paul Strelzin about returning to the Don Haskins Center. Even if it was for just one game, the Strelz deserves an opportunity to get behind the microphone and shout out “Minerball”.

I always love when college football coaches decide to compare the best NCAA team to the NFL. In sports we love to play the "What If" game, and South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has no problems stirring the pot.

The UTEP Miners won a game for the first time in over a month, by defeating Tulane 24-20 at the Sunbowl for Homecoming on Saturday night.  UTEP is now 2-6 on the season, and celebrated the rare victory like they had just won a bowl game.
