An attempt to spice up a charity golf tournament in Australia with some sexy models has led to accusations that aren’t typically hurled at sexy models.

Darwin Life magazine, which was sponsoring the seventh hole, decided to staff their area with two scantily-clad representatives. (Not pictured, but you get the idea.)  The models, apparently, got a bit frisky.

Tiger Woods, who in recent months has slipped to a number 17 ranking in the world, says injuries to his left leg sustained during the Masters will make him miss next week’s AT&T National tournament at Aronomink near Philadelphia.

Woods hasn’t finished a tourney since tying for fourth place at the Masters in April, where hitting from an awkward stance in pine straw on the 17th hole injured his left knee and Achilles tendon.

Rory McIlroy shredded the course, lapped the competition and wrote his name in the record book 12 times Sunday during a dazzling 16-under par, 8-stroke US Open victory at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD.

Among the US Open records the 22-year-old from Northern Ireland set included the lowest score after 36 rounds, the lowest score after 54 and the lowest total score – a mark he shattered by four strokes.

Phenoms and prodigies have always fascinated us.  Whether it is music, sports, science, or any other discipline we are drawn to people who possess abilities far beyond anything we can comprehend.  Rory McIlroy was tabbed as a future superstar when he turned pro shortly after his 18th birthday in 2007.  The golf world took notice when he won the 2010 Quail Hollow Championship two days before his 21st birthday.  His 10 under par 62 in the final round was his not so subtle arrival into the big time.
