Actor Peter Falk, who for decades played the titular character on the detective telepic series ‘Columbo,’ died Thursday night at his home in Beverly Hills, CA. He was 83.
Falk had been suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s, which was first made public in December 2008, according to the AP. The actor “died peacefully,” his family said in a statement.

Tennis player Bethanie Mattek-Sands, the self-proclaimed Lady Gaga of the women’s tour, wowed spectators at Wimbledon when she showed up in a jacket adorned with fringe, studs, and tennis ball-halves.
The brainchild of British designer (and Gaga fashion collaborator) Alex Noble, the jacket even adheres to Wimbledon’s all-white rule for court attire. Mattek-Sands didn’t actually wear it to play, but rest assured, she did make quite an entrance.

We’re really looking forward to Saturday, July 2, because not only will we get Queensryche for Streetfest 2011, Bachman and Turner will be overdriving our Independence Day fun. They just recently started touring again — first time in a couple of decades — but they’be been back together long enough to play halftime of the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup late last year. Being a halftime show, they have to rehearse with the cheerleaders, which was a real treat for one Edmonton janitor…until he slipped and fell down the steps!
