Incoming University of New Mexico basketball player Jarion Henry had better let his play do his talking for him.

New Mexico head coach Steve Alford tells the Albuquerque Journal he has banned all his players from tweeting, a decision that may not sit well with Henry, a six-foot-nine forward who, like many teenagers, likes to write on the social media site.

Pittsburgh Steeler Rashard Mendenhall Files $1 Million Suit for Lost Endorsement Deal After Twitter Fiasco

Rashard Mendenhall, running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is suing the Champion sports apparel company for $1 million because it dropped his endorsement deal after tweets Mendenhall posted following the death of Osama bin Laden.

Mendenhall’s lawyers filed the breach of contract suit Monday against Hanesbrands Inc., Champion’s parent company, based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Texas Rangers Raising Stadium Railing Height to Avoid Accidents

After several incidents in which fans fell over ballpark railings, the Texas Rangers announced today that although its rail heights already exceed code at its stadium, they will be raised “to the highest standard in the United States at this time.”

“The safety of our fans is our top priority,” Rangers president Nolan Ryan said. “The initiatives we are announcing today for Rangers Ballpark in Arlington will help to ensure that we meet that priority.”

Japan Stuns Team USA to Win Women’s World Cup 3-2

Team USA had already beaten Japan three times this year, but this was the game that mattered most.

The American women, seeking their first World Cup title since 1999, dominated during much of the final game on Sunday. They outshot Japan by a 29-12 margin and a 6-3 margin on goal and led twice. But in the end, after two 15-minute extra time periods, the teams were tied up at 2-2 – and it all came down to penalty kicks.
