California born and bred Carson Palmer is headed home to play for the Oakland Raiders.  Palmer's much publicized divorce with the Cincinnati Bengals now has a final decree.

Bengals owner Mike Brown had vowed to not deal Palmer to punish him for not honoring the final three years of his contract with Cincinnati.

Oakland quarterback Jason Campbell broke his collarbone in Sunday's 24-17 win over Cleveland, and the Raiders made Brown a deal he couldn't refuse.

In exchange for Palmer, Cincinnati will get Oakland's first round pick in 2012 and a conditional second round pick in 2013.  If Oakland wins a playoff game this season then the 2013 pick becomes a first rounder.

I think it is a win/win for both teams.  There are enough pieces in place for Palmer to succeed in Oakland, and Cincinnati looks like an up and comer with Andy Dalton under center.
