One of the most difficult accomplishments is sports is to win the triple crown.  It has only been done 11 times in horse racing history.  It is so rare that it has been 34 years since Affirmed accomplished the historic feat in 1978.

Many horses have been able to win the first two legs of the Triple Crown, but have failed to seal the deal by winning the grueling mile and a half Belmont Stakes.  The three most recent horses that almost won the Triple crown but finished 2nd in the Belmont were, Smarty Jones in 2004, Silver Charm in 1997, and Real Quiet in 1998.

Now the world awaits for Saturday's 137th running of the Belmont Stakes.  The $25,000 question is, will I'll Have Another be able to win the Triple Crown, and subsequently achieve horse racing immortality?  I'll Have Another is a horse that has been able to defy the odds this year and prove to everyone that he is an exceptional colt.

He has never been a favorite in a race which he has participated in.  I'll Have Another is on one hell of a streak this year.  He won the G2-Robert Lewis as a 43-1 underdog.  He was victorious in the G1-Santa Anita Derby as a 4-1 underdog, and beat out Bodemeister as a 15-1 long shot in the Kentucky Derby.  To add insult to injury, I'll Have Another defeated Bodemeister by a head to win the Preakness.  As usual not too many had faith in the spectacular colt, as he wasn't even the favorite in the Preakness.

If it wasn't for I'll Have Another, we would be talking about the possibility of Bodemeister winning the Triple Crown.  Even though Belmont Park has not been kind to many winners of the first 2 legs of the Triple Crown, I feel that it is an ideal track for I'll Have Another.

He is a horse that is made for this type of track, and can conquer the mile and a half distance.  What makes I'll Have Another such a remarkable horse is his ability to maintain his speed throughout a race, he exerts just enough energy to stay with the pack until the stretch run, where he puts on the speed for the finish.  I'll Have Another is one of the best finishing horses that I have ever seen, and he will win the 2012 Belmont Stakes, making him the Triple Crown champion.

There is no bigger rush than watching an exciting horse race.  I'll Have Another is quite a horse to watch, and has a chance to make history this Saturday.  Get ready for an amazing show horse racing fans!
