Browns to Keep Hoyer as Quarterback

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Browns coach Rob Chudzinski ended any mystery about his quarterback situation by saying that Brian Hoyer will start Thursday's game against Buffalo.

Hoyer has gone 2-0 since replacing injured starter Brandon Weeden, who sprained his thumb in Week 2. Chudzinski said Monday that Weeden is healthy and been cleared to play, but he's going to stick with Hoyer, who led the Browns to a 17-6 win over Cincinnati on Sunday in his third NFL start.

Chudzinski said he will continue to evaluate the position "week to week" but made it clear that he has faith in Hoyer, who began the season as Cleveland's No. 3 quarterback.

Chudzinski complimented Hoyer on his play-making ability and leadership and said he has improved in his short time as a starter

It's a short week for the Browns (2-2), who host the Bills (2-2) in three days.
