UPDATE: The City of El Paso has required the organizers of this run to obtain a permit. Unfortunately, this cannot be done in time for Sunday's scheduled race. THE RACE WILL BE POSTPONED, BUT RESCHEDULED when a permit can be obtained.

A local cop and an assistant principal have joined forces to help the victims and their families with a memorial run this Sunday.

The Boston Marathon Memorial 3 mile run/walk takes place this Sunday, April 21, 2013 on Scenic Drive starting at 8:00 a.m. This will be a Red Cross fundraiser to help assist the victims affected both directly and indirectly from the tragedies that unfolded on the 15th. The Red Cross will be there as well to help out with cash donations and collection.

This Sunday the El Paso community will come together to show our solidarity for all those affected in the Boston bombs on April 15, 2013. The Red Cross of El Paso will be taking donations to help those in need; for future events as well.

Make sure you bring sunscreen, your family, dogs, neighbors, an extra water bottle and your El Paso spirit. If you have a running event t-shirt, please wear it that day. The true challenge is to have over 100 individuals participate in this event.

Location:

Westside entrance to Scenic Dr. Corner of Robinson and Rim. The route is 3 miles from one end to the other and back. You don't have to do the whole thing if you can't.

Time:

The run/walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. (Remember that Scenic Dr. reopens at 12, so we need to wrap it up by 11:00 a.m.)

Let’s go out and raise support to make a difference in the lives of those in need!
