In an unprecedented move, the UFC stripped light heavyweight champion Jon 'Bones' Jones of his title and suspended him indefinitely following his arrest in connection with a hit-and-run that injured a pregnant women in Albuquerque.  Jones turned himself into police on Monday, and was later set free on bond.  According to witnesses at the scene of the accident, 'Bones' crashed his silver Buick sport utility vehicle into the pregnant women's red Honda on Sunday morning and fled on foot towards a gated community.

Witnesses also said that Jones then went back to his vehicle to retrieve cash from it and left the scene again.  Jones thought he was being sneaky, but he's one of the most famous UFC fighters in the world, and as his luck would have it, an off-duty police officer witnessed the crash and recognized Jones immediately.  A pipe with marijuana was also found in Jones' car.

'Bones' was scheduled to defend his light heavyweight championship in UFC 187 in Las Vegas on May 23 against Anthony Johnson, but the fight has subsequently been cancelled.

In December, Jones tested positive for traces of cocaine prior to his title defense against Daniel Cormier.  Things were looking much better for the light heavyweight champion after he checked himself into a drug treatment facility in January.
