Are Violent Video Games Contributing To the Declining Crime Rate?

A new academic paper suggests that the proliferation of violent videos games over the past 20 years has contributed to the more than 50 percent decrease in violent crime over that time period.

The paper’s authors analyzed published studies on the topic of violence and video games, and were able to conclude that “though there is evidence that violent video games cause aggression in a laboratory setting, there is no evidence that violent video games cause violence or crime.”

NCAA Tourney Hero Lorenzo Charles Dies In Bus Crash

Lorenzo Charles, whose last-second dunk in the 1983 championship game propelled North Carolina State to unlikely victory, died Monday in a bus crash in West Raleigh, North Carolina. He was 47.

Charles was driving a charter bus when he lost control and slammed into a group of trees. He was the only person on the bus at the time.

Dallas Mavericks’ Owner Mark Cuban Brags Big Time In Legal Response To Lawsuit

The NBA champion Dallas Mavericks have won at least 50 games in every season since Mark Cuban bought a majority share in the team from Ross Perot Jr. in 2000.

Nevertheless, Perot, who still owns five percent of the Mavericks, is suing Cuban for “mismanagement” of the team.

The Manning Brothers Ham It Up As ‘Football Cops’ in Hilarious New Video [VIDEO]

In what we’re pretty sure is not a real show, but rather a clever viral video promotion, Peyton and Eli Manning don extreme mustaches and use tight spirals to enforce laws on the Direct TV drama ‘Football Cops,’ which is allegedly “coming this fall.”

In the trailer for the series, the Manning brothers show off their substantial acting chops, and blurt out campy catch phrases such as “Hit him in the numbers” and  “Guess nobody told him justice was a team sport.”

Tiger Woods To Miss Another Tournament Due To Injuries

Tiger Woods, who in recent months has slipped to a number 17 ranking in the world, says injuries to his left leg sustained during the Masters will make him miss next week’s AT&T National tournament at Aronomink near Philadelphia.

Woods hasn’t finished a tourney since tying for fourth place at the Masters in April, where hitting from an awkward stance in pine straw on the 17th hole injured his left knee and Achilles tendon.
