Confident coming off a another big win, Chapin Husky football meets another northeast rival playing Irvin rockets Friday night at Irvin memorial stadium. Chapin has a 9-0 all time series lead against Irvin.
Last season, Chapin came away with a 31-21 victory over the Rockets.
Andress ended their night in disappointment last friday as Chapin walked away the winner of the district 1-4A season opener.
"We were determined to win and we had a good chance but we did not perform," running back Rashad Chisholm said.

Boy, was that a tough loss for the Irish. The Canutillo Eagles held everything we threw at them beating the Irish 35-0. And our defense just could not over power the super-sized Eagle offensive line and and agile running game. But that's behind us now, we take on a new opponent; the Fabens Wildcats. The Wildcats are coming off a huge win against San Elizario by a score of 35-6. Again, the Irish need to gain momentum and keep it against this already lifted team.
After a loss in its first district game of the season, Americas took out its anger on winless Coronado Friday night at the SAC. The high powered Americas offense never seemed to stop pumping out points, and the Coronado offense that hasn’t been able to get going remained consistent by not scoring. If these two themes continue, Americas and Coronado will be moving in different directions from one another rapidly.

The Irish have come off a fantastic shut-out win against the Mountain View Lobos. It capped a great Homecoming week for the Cathedral family. This week gets a little bit difficult taking on the always supersized Canutillo Eagles. The Eagles are coming of a 21-6 win over the Gadsden Panthers. Both teams hold records of 2-1. The Irish look to continue momentum and get that 3rd win.
Intense can only begin to describe the feel of this Friday's volleyball game against El Paso High. The great rivalry continues another year as the Huskies go head to head with the Tigers in a heated game of skill.
Will Chapin come out on top in a fierce match against their rivals?
The game Friday night between Americas and Coronado has two different storylines, set up by two different off-season situations. Americas is looking to compete for a district championship with a veteran offense that has had a great amount of success this season, even in a loss to Franklin High School.
