As a kid, sports was a staple growing up in the Dominguez household. As the youngest of six, it was hard to avoid it. Barbies and playing dress-up took back seat as compared to watching Michael Jordan up against Magic Johnson, watching my older sisters cheer under the Friday night lights against the 1988 Odessa Permian football team, seeing Tyson lose his titles to underdog James "Buster" Douglas, covering my eyes and dunking in the backyard like Dee Brown or quite simply laying on the bed with my mom and sister Monica watching Kristi Yamaguchi and Nancy Kerrigan represent the USA with toe loops and triple axels. I was born and raised in El Paso. I went to Irvin High School where I focused on journalism. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. in Broadcasting and a minor in Exercise and Sport Sciences. I worked in Texas markets, including Fox Sports Southwest and ESPN Dallas, which has brought me full circle back home where my passion for sports and broadcasting have finally come together. I don't presume to know everything in sports, but I do have the journalistic ability to ask all the right questions. I'm excited to be back home and talk sports on "Sports Spin with Andy Lee." My favorite teams are the UTEP Miners, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I encourage more females to listen, call in and quit wearing their boyfriend/husband's jerseys, but rep their own! The Wonderman from the Netherlands, Named Zonderland the Flying Dutchman
I've seen my share of both men and women's gymnastics since I was a kid. Yesterday's horizontal bar competition was one I won't forget, as it made me question my own ability to fly. With hopes the U.S.A. would be the ones to clench a medal -- it was still a spectacular performance by Dutchman, Epke Zonderland, who had a solid performance with a daring triple set of three action-packed releases and

The Fab Five Gymnasts End A 16-Year-Drought With Gold
It was a first, for the 1996 Women's gymnastics team at the Olympics in Atlanta. The gold wrapped around what was deemed the "Magnificent Seven": Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Dominique Dawes, Kerri Strug, Amy Chow, Amanda Borden and Jaycie Phelps. Coached by Béla Károlyi. A true group of Olympians. But that was then...
MLB Trade Deadline Headlines: In a Nutshell
I'll give you him for them and them for him -- plus some cash, a pair of minor leaguers and a pair of shoes for a shot at a veteran and so on. Some trades came as surprises, others fell quietly into place and some barely beat the buzzard.
Past Olympic Events Gone Bad and Future Ones to Add? Your Time to Chime…
One way to show your strength and bulging muscles is a good ol' game of tug-of-war, right? What if you place it on a world-wide platform for competition -- you got yourself a game! In the 2012 Summer Olympics, there's not any particular event that stands out to me as nonsense. However, there's a few on the top of my mind, that if added, would be absolutely ridiculous.
