Brandon Cohn
Ever since he was a little kid, Brandon Cohn has been an out going person. Brandon was born in Los Angeles and lived there until he was 8. Cohn briefly moved to El Paso for a couple of years before moving to Chicago with his mom and sister in 1989. While residing in Chicago Brandon became interested in sports. He attended numerous Bulls, White Sox, Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks games. In 1991 Brandon moved back to El Paso to live with his father. Once in high school Cohn realized his love for sportscasting. As a sophmore at Coronado High School he started the sportscasting program for CTV. Cohn did numerous stories during his tenure at CHS on a variety of sports. As a junior in high school Cohn was the Co-host of a local sports television program called "The Sports Bag." While in college at UTEP Cohn worked for KTEP, an NPR affiliate. He announced the time, and weather during breaks and co-hosted a radio program called "Classics of Jazz." During his senior year at UTEP, Cohn completed an internship for KROD. Shortly after the internship was completed, Brandon was hired to work over nights for KROD, KLAQ, and KISS. After working over nights for 2 years Cohn was given the Co-Host and producer position for "Crunchtime." Today Brandon is also a permanent fill in for Sportstalk, and a reporter for Football Friday Night. In July of 2012 Brandon officially became known as "The Iceman" and began his own podcast for 600 ESPN El Paso called Deep Dish Sports. The name Deep Dish Sports
derives from the Iceman's love for his second home, Chicago. When I went to Chicago for the first time in 1988, my stepfather Nick took my mom, sister, and I to a famous Chicago deep dish pizza restaurant called Giordano's. Once I tried it, I was hooked, anyone who has had deep dish pizza from Chicago will tell you that it is amazing! Due to my love of deep dish pizza, and the city of Chicago, I decided to call my podcast Deep Dish Sports. Not to mention that it is a deep, informative podcast, featuring a variety of guests. You can listen to it on our website krod.com weekly.
