Nashville’s Michael Blazek and El Paso’s Matt Wisler both pitched six innings in the Sounds 4-2 win over the ChihuahuasThursday at Southwest University Park. Blazek did not allow any runs until Yeison Asencio’s two-run home run in the seventh inning, accounting for all of the El Paso scoring. Asencio is 7-for-10 with two home runs since arriving from Double-A San Antonio three days ago.

 

Wisler allowed two runs in his six innings of work, striking out seven and walking one. In Wisler’s last five starts, he has combined to strike out 28 hitters and walk five. Jeff Francoeur went 1-for-4 with a run scored in his return to Southwest University Park after being designated for assignment by San Diego three days ago.

Nashville struck out 12 batters in the game, including seven in the final three innings. Thursday’s sellout crowd was the 39th of the season at Southwest University Park.

 

The only runs of the night came from the red hot Yeison Asencio when he hit this 2-Run bomb in the seventh inning.
