Most longtime UTEP basketball fans remember the name David Hall from his days officiating Miners WAC basketball games. Hall, considered one of the top referees in college basketball still works games in the Pac-12, Mountain West, and WAC conferences. Last night, he tossed the jump ball at the start of the overtime session between Wichita State and Utah, and Hall took an elbow to the head by the Shockers' Shaq Morris. The blow knocked him out, which is the second time in a week a referee has been knocked out of a basketball game. Last Saturday night, Rick Crawford collapsed after being hit following a jump ball in the Vanderbilt-LaSalle game.
