For the second straight year, Arte Moreno and the Los Angeles Angels have landed the biggest free agent on the market.  In 2011, the Angels inked Albert Pujols to a 10 year $240 million dollar deal.  Today, they signed Josh Hamilton to a 5 year $125 million dollar deal.

Despite a disappointing finish to his 2012 campaign in Texas, Josh Hamilton is among the best players in baseball.  There are always concerns with his addictions and health, but he makes a massive difference in any lineup.  Last season, he clubbed a career high 43 homers to go along with 128 RBI.

The back end of the Pujols and Hamilton deals may come back to bite the Angels, but Arte Moreno is convinced he will more than make it up on the front end.  The Angels always rank high in attendance, and they have a big television contract in place.

As crazy as it seems, a team that features Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, and Josh Hamilton will still play second fiddle in Southern California.
