Andress doesn't appear to have lost a step from last season's squad that finished 6-5, (6-2) 1-5A, as they performed brilliantly against Hanks with a dominant 56-28 win on Friday night at Allan Sepkowitz Field.  The game was cut short with 11:13 remaining in the fourth quarter due to lightning that was spotted in the area and an incoming storm.

It was Hanks who was constantly trying to weather the storm throughout the contest though thanks to Andress' QB William Frilot who put on an offensive show in the first half of play.  The Eagles' senior signal caller had a performance for the ages prior to halftime by throwing for 5 touchdown passes.  He was extremely accurate and precise with his throws by completing 15 of 21 passes for 190 yards before leaving the game late in the second quarter with an apparent knee injury.

Andress did an job of spreading the ball around as four different wide receivers scored touchdowns and running back Otho Redding added one rushing and one receiving TD.  Hanks' quarterback Nick Reyes had a solid performance for the rebuilding knights by completing 14 of 20 passes for 230 yards, threw for 3 touchdown passes, and rushed for one more.  Knight's wide receiver Damien Bonner played a tremendous game with four catches for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The victorious Andress Eagles will host Pebble Hills next Friday, a team that is playing their first season of varsity football, while Hanks will look to regroup as they host El Paso High next Friday September 2.  Don't forget to listen to Football Friday Night on 600 ESPN El Paso each Friday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
