NMSU will have their work cut out for them as they enter the 2013 football season as FBS Independents.  In 2014 they will join the Sun Belt Conference, since the school is a FBS Independent they can compete for the Sun Belt Conference Championship and a bowl bid.

The Aggies have an extremely challenging schedule this season that features the likes of Texas, Minnesota, UCLA, and Boston College.  Last season was a disaster for NMSU, they went 1-11 and 0-6 in WAC play.  The team will play under new head coach Dough Martin, who became the 34th coach in Aggies' history in February.  Martin replaces DeWayne Walker who left after four season taking a position with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In the past Dough Martin was the former head coach at Kent State, and was with Boston College in 2012.  Here is NMSU's 2013 football schedule.
