High school basketball players and coaches from around the city gathered this morning for the McDonald's Classic Basketball Tournament press conference. The three-day event will take place from December 6th though the 8th at Del Valle high school, 950 Bordeaux Street. The tournament will showcase some of the top-ranked high school basketball teams from across the United States. UTEP freshman forward Efie Odigie played in last year's McDonald's Classic Basketball tournament and he was named to the all-tournament team.

Andress and Faith Christian Academy will compete in the girls division, along with San Antonio's Roosevelt High School and Lynwood High School in California. Lynwood sophomore guard Rayah Marshall is ranked as one of the top players in the nation by ESPN.

The boys division will feature two pools with four high schools from the Sun City: Faith Christian, Burges, Del Valle, and Canutillo, along with three schools from Houston and one from San Antonio. Legacy School of Sports Sciences, Cy Fair Learning Center, and The Pro Vision Academy will represent H-Town and Roosevelt High will also compete in the boys division. Burges senior Tristan Newton, one of the top players in the city, will highlight the boys division.

Both boys and girls championship games will take place Saturday, December 8th at Del Valle. Tickets are priced at $3 for adults and $2 for students. For more information, like them on Facebook.
